How we work together

Hey, Kirby here. This program is where I'm investing the majority of my time and attention outside of my Consulting.

My intention is to help as many of you as possible become sales pro leaders with a clarity of vision. And I believe the only way for me to be successful is to ensure that the people I serve are truly successful.

So I created this program so that I could invest more time and effort into the leaders who invest their time with me and my work.

But I can't help you become a sales talent connoisseur with a single pre-recorded course. 

Becoming a sales hiring pro requires intent: an investment from you of time, energy, and focus.

The best way for me to support you on that journey is through an ongoing relationship.

A place where I can share what's emerging (including the changing landscape) with you over a period of time so it becomes second nature for you. This will allow us to dig into your sales management environment and the critical components necessary for an amazing sales culture.  Remember, it is both the talent and the coach that make for excellence.

When I entered the world of media I was excited and driven because of my highly competitive personality to be a very high performer.

I was quickly identified as a strong sales talent and heavily recruited. I would routinely win new business contests...and before too long I was recruited as a sales manager candidate.

As you know, being a great seller is decidedly a poor predictor of being a highly talented sales leader.

I was given my first challenge in Chicago for Clear Channel and while I was consumed with the joy of lifting others and watching them realize the outside limits of their talents.

I was able to build a culture of excellence, accountability, fun and the kindred teamsmanship.

However, as a recruiter I was awful - and that's understated!

I was under the arrogant self-belief that i could turn anybody into a sales superhero.

As the revolving door of my hires spun quicker and quicker I was becoming admonished by senior leadership.

I hated to agree with them but they were categorically correct. I became concerned about my short career as a sales manager and immediately researched the best strategy to recruit great talent.

My journey brought me to the Gallup Institute and the leading edge philosophy to identify great talent.

As I became certified in Talent-Focused Management, I continued to feverishly read the Don Clifton books that forever changed my perspective on people, talent and the personality themes that were predictive of outside sales.

Of the Clipfon 34 personality themes, 14 of them were the secret sauce for a sales talent.

Now the challenge was how to identify those themes in a candidate's responses to triggering questions.

This set me on the path, but it proved not to be enough.

I had to dig deeper.

I didn't want to only be a good sales manager - I wanted to be known as the Sales Hiring Guru!

Over time I curated an "obstacle course" for candidates that would give me very high confidence that they would succeed in our high-performance environment - not only in the short term - but the long term.

It worked and it brought my hiring batting average well over 80%.

Suddenly, we were beating every goal given to us and my team was targeted for poaching from my competitors.

I kept 95% of my talented team because they wanted to be with winners!

It was amazing.

It exceeded even my own expectations.

It was my secret process that successfully carried me through worst-to-first accomplishments for Clear Channel, Univision and CBS.

When I left media, and started Kaden Solutions I used this same process for all of my consulting clients with ridiculous success.

I want to now share my tricks with the rest of the world because sales is a magnificent profession.
